I know everyone has been absolutely irritated beyond belief infatuated with all the round-the-clock Brett Favre coverage. It’s mesmerizing, isn’t it? Favre may or may not have texted Ted Thompson. Favre may or may not want to play for the Panthers. Favre may or may not have an itch. Doesn’t get any better than that… unless, of course, we’re talking about A-Rod’s riveting extramarital affairs.

Anyways, today marked a big day in the Favre saga. The levees have broken, people, and there’s no stopping the flood of Favre coverage that’s about to pour through your TV screens. With the retirement of the legendary Brett Favre an array of doubt and skepticism has come over the Packers. Apparently there wasn’t a team around Favre that propelled the team to a 13-3 record and an NFC Championship game in Lambeau field for the first time in 10 years. People went from (2005) hating Favre and claiming he should retire too (2007) thinking that without Favre the Packers are going to crumble and are in a tail spin without him. In this post I’ll try to give you 5 good reasons why the Packers can and will still be able to compete even without their leader.
1. Aaron Rodgers - That’s right, Aaron Rodgers is the number one reason why the Packers can be competitive once again in 2008.
