The Late NL Report

Alright, so I’ve been lazy busy and haven’t been able to do my AAAA National League write-up yet. Let me be honest, the NL doesn’t have anything on the American League. The AL once again dominated in Interleague play this year. I’d take four or five AL teams to win the World Series before I’d take the best NL team. The races are heating up, save the NL West, and the NL is going to be fun to follow for the two months. Who’s going to take the East and is the CC deal going to propel the Brewers to the World Series, or are the Cubs just too good.

American League Mid-Season Report

So the All-Star game isn’t here, at least not yet, just a few more days. But check out your favorite teams record in the local sports section and you’ll see we’re past the halfway mark. This season has shown that baseball is a crazy game. Teams are coming out of nowhere and surprising people - the Tampa Bay Devil Rays - and teams that should be doing better are struggling to stay in the race, and it’s only July. Where do I start?

I’ll start with the most surprising team in baseball: the Rays. They’ve come out of nowhere, and so have their fans, apparently. But they can do everything that will win them ball games. They can pitch, they can field and they can hit. Continue Reading »

Analyzing the AL All-Star Starters

It’s everyone’s favorite time of the baseball season- time to bitch and moan about the All-Star selections, an argument everyone will forget within the next two weeks (when trade deadline rumors start up). The selections just came out today (though the New York Post leaked the starters last night).
